Meet Our Team

Co-Director: Paula Claycomb has worked 23 years in the United Nations system, mostly with UNICEF and six years with U.S. organizations devoted to human rights and children’s and women’s issues. She also spent four years as a journalist in the western U.S. Paula believes that public/private partnerships are key to strengthening women’s ability to provide for themselves and their children.
In partnering with Lynn Sim to establish the first global hand embroidery network, All One Thread, Paula hopes to combine her love of embroidery with her experience in many cultures around the world in ways that will
benefit women and their families and communities.

Co-Director: Lynn Sim has over 25 years consulting experience, including 17 years living overseas, working with UN agencies, national governments, international NGOs, non-profit organizations, international schools, consulting firms, and private sector companies. She is committed to the critical role that community based partnerships play in improving the lives of women and their families.
Lynn is currently based in Mexico and has also lived and worked in Egypt, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Lesotho and Canada. She has consulted in many other countries including Pakistan, Turkmenistan, St. Lucia, England, the Solomon Islands, and Vietnam.

Board Member: Cheryl Groff has managed and implemented communication programs in the health, education, environment, and economic growth sectors, all of which had a women’s empowerment component. Countries of work include Egypt, Jordan, Cyprus, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Uganda and now Nepal.
Cheryl is known for implementing successful campaigns and building strong teams as well as encouraging
successful partnerships with a wide spectrum of people and agencies representing government,
non-government, donors, academia, media, and the private sector.

Board Member: Jessica Sim recently completed her Masters degree in International Performance Research, during which she focused on theatre and performance initiatives in ecology. Prior, she trained for her BA at the London Contemporary Dance School.
Jessica primarily seeks collaborative and socially-engaged practices and has worked with multi-media installations, site-specific performances, and movement improvisations. She has mainly worked in Amsterdam, London, Birmingham, Valencia (CA), Bishkek, and Cairo. Her latest project, Contribute a Canister, took place in Amsterdam and addressed the ecology of tap water through grassroots and performance-based practices.

Board Member: Ahmad Masoud is founder and director of the Consumer Rights and Services Organization (CRSO), the first non-political, non-for-profit, independent national organization in Afghanistan that promotes consumer rights, fair trade and value-based competition.
Mr. Masoud has worked with a number of national and international organizations, UN agencies and the BBC in South Asia, Africa and the United Kingdom. He regularly writes on social and developmental issues in Afghanistan; his articles are published on a number of national and international websites and online and print newspapers.
