As you may have noticed, AOT has taken a long break due to family and work circumstances. Thank you to those of you who continue take interest in AOT. We hope to get things rolling soon. In the meantime have a look at these beautiful pieces from Denmark to mark World Embroidery Day 2016. We received the following message:

" I just want to show the embroidery from this year at WORLD EMBROIDERY DAY   / 30. july / 2016 / 

In Denmark we have a theme every year - this year we have: Peace  ( in Danish:  FRED )

In 2016 we use red material and graffiti letters. In november we will have one exhibition with all the embroidery from the people who came at the specific day.

Thank you again for responding so positively to our World Embroidery Day event. A beautiful collection from all over the world! It reenforces the fact that hand embroidery is alive and well and continues to evolve.

All One Thread is now looking at how we can keep this momentum going and is in the process of mapping out the responses based on areas of interest. We are hoping that some of you will be interested in sharing your skills to support AOTs objectives.

We will soon be sharing our thoughts and ideas for our next project so please keep posted, add more of your amazing work, or suggest ways forward. We are open to all suggestions.

Thank you all for making the 5th Anniversary of World Embroidery Day a success! Please continue to stay in touch. We will be launching a new project within the next few months.

It is so encouraging to see how many people our All One Thread facebook page has reached! We just need one more country and then we will meet our target of 20 countries. So far we have pieces from Tajikistan, Pakistan, Sweden, Norway, USA, Ethiopia, Kyrgyzstan, India, Ghana, Palestine, Portugal, Denmark, Afghanistan, Japan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Iran. Uzbekistan, and Australia! Such wonderful diversity.

Only a couple of more weeks to go before World Embroidery Day. We continue to receive such beautiful pieces and stories. We only need pieces from four more countries to reach our target.

The two photos from my website are made by:  3D / Stumpwork.  Pink shrimp  and Herring.
I like to mix my embroideries with other items - far away from the textile direction. At these embroidered pictures I uses tins from fish - in real life...
The raw expression together with the delicate embroidery - it is my favorite...
